Global Shutter

« Back to Glossary Index

A global shutter camera is a type of camera that captures an entire image at once, rather than scanning it line-by-line like a rolling shutter camera. This means that the image is captured without any distortion caused by movement during the scanning process. In contrast, a rolling shutter camera captures an image by scanning it from top to bottom or left to right, which can result in distortion if there is movement during the scan.
