Neuromorphic AI

« Back to Glossary Index

Neuromorphic AI is a subfield of Artificial Intelligence that is inspired by the structure and function of the human brain. It involves the development of hardware and software systems that mimic the behaviour of biological neurons and synapses. Neuromorphic AI is used in a variety of applications, including image and speech recognition, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. For example, a neuromorphic AI system can be used to recognise speech in noisy environments by processing audio signals in a way that is similar to how the human brain processes sound. It can also be used to control the movement of a robot by simulating the way that neurons in the human brain communicate with each other to control movement. Neuromorphic AI has the potential to improve the efficiency and accuracy of AI systems by enabling them to process information in a way that is more similar to the way that humans process information.
